dc.description.abstract As we all know that networking is very essential part in any Organization as it provides the facility to communicate from one end to other. With the help of networking we can easily send any information (data) without travelling to the destination. We can find essence of networking in almost everything around us, from our mobile phones to the internet in our laptops. In the present work, networking model existing at National Institute of Hydrology (NTH) Roorkee has been visited and discussed. In the study discussion has been made how the connection (networking) is being made at NIH and how the configuration is done of various devices like PC's, Switches, Hubs, Routers, Server, etc. In this project several passwords like enable, secret, telnet password, etc. have been explored. However, due to paucity of time, more substantial study could have been done with the data available at the Computer Centre of NIH Roorkee. This study is just an attempt to understand the concept of Networking Architecture in a real organisation. en_US
