Impact of global climate change on the future water resources of India is intimately coupled with the variation of monsoon wind and monsoon rainfall. In this paper, the differences in paleo records from different areas have been discussed. It is felt that the climate models which can reproduce observed spatial distribution of monsoon are required to further understand the recorded paleomonsoon fluctuations.
