dc.description.abstract An overview of Stochastic optimization models used in reservoir planning and operation is presented. Various models are discussed which consider the stochastic nature of system parameters involved in the determination of optimum operating rules and reservoir capacities. Stochastic optimization methodologies are discussed in considerable detail applicable to real time reservoir operation. en_US
