Abstract:
The flood .flow characteristics of the Brahmaputra river have been presented. Some of the hydrometeorological and geological aspects of the basin have also been briefly discussed. The recent flood events, flood damage as well as details of river gauge data have been mentioned. The basic factors causing extensive floods in the Brahmaputra basin have been identified.
