dc.description.abstract With the ever increasing demand of water and inadequate surface water in drought prone areas, more attention is given on ground water reserve. The present study forms a part of the development of a model to forecast the availability of drinking water in Jamnagar district. Drinking water availability has to be assessed both from surface water sources and from ground water reserve. The ground water balance study has been carried out for Jamnagar district for the period 1981-82 to 1985-86 and the presentage of rainfall that gets recharged to the ground water storage has been estimated from the water balance study. en_US
