dc.description.abstract Employing the similarity principle, this paper derives the bed load formulae. The formulae include relations for stream width, meander wave length, and bed slope, which are related to friction factor, bed load discharge, bed load diameter, and the water depth. On comparison using the data on the hydraulic geometry of several alluvial laboratory streams, the derived formulae are found to match well with those by Einstein (1950), Shields (1936), and Meyer-Peter and Muller model (1948). en_US
