Abstract

As pr UN Study, India's population has already crossed 1 billion mark and it has been assessed that the urban population may reach 50% of the total population by the middle of the next century, as against about 30% at present. Due to rapid urbanization and industrialization in the country, the urban population is increasing steadily from year to year.
