dc.description.abstract The application of isotopes in hydrology is not only limited to the water availability but now-a-days these techniques can also be used in various industrial sectors including hydro-power projects. Isotopes as tracers can be successfully used to measure the rate of flow of water in canals, closed conduits, rivers and the isotope uses are opening up the possibilities for assessing the water in a particular groundwater body, studies on seasonal variations and climatological conditions. In the present paper various applications of isotope techniques for hydrological analysis in hydro-power projects are discussed so that using these techniques the potential for hydro-electric power can be increased. en_US
