dc.description.abstract	The present study , provides an introduction to the concept representative basin studies and gives a detailed account of current status of the representative basins of the hard rock region, viz : , Malaprabha and Ghataprabha comprising basin char- acteristics ( i.e ., soil, geology, landuse pattern , geomorphol- ogy) ,basin input and output parameters. This report is prepared by Dr. J.S. Rawat and Dr. B.K. Purnndara assisted by Mr. S. Chandrakumar and Mr. N. Varadarajan wider the supervision of Sh.
