Abstract: Remote Sensing techniques and raster geographic information system function are developed and applied for estimating parameters for hydrological modelling. Remote Sensing technique with GIS was used to study the tons river basin located between 77.48.06 E • longitudes and 30.29.49 N latitudes. The measurement and analyses for the Tons River basin by the using GIS for morphometric parameters of the basin to address Liner, areal and relief aspects. • In the present study, more emphasis were dealt with the geometry, for the evaluation • of morphometric parameter such as stream order(N„), stream length (la), bifurcation ration (Rb) , drainage density (Da) , stream frequency (t) , texture ration (T) , elongation ratio (Re) circularity ration (Re) , and factor ration (120.The analysis of these basin morphometric aspects and their parameters in GIS are of immense utility in river basin evolution, understanding the basin for natural resources assessment, planning and management at any scale.
