Abstract: Research activity entirely relies upon the selective, pinpointed, exhaustive efficient, documentation and information (SPEEDI) services covering the past and present treasures of knowledge available at easily accessible place - Library. The study of trend of progress of various organs and services provides an opportunity of introspection of achievement or shortcomings and would definitely contribute for betterment or improvement in practices in vogue. Building Research Unit (BRU) and later on CBRI library. was established in 1947 to cope up the research needs of Building engineering and technology. It has been performing all necessary and allied activities over the years which are presented in graphical form. With the advancement of information technology, the library has also entered in computer application to its activities, services and resource sharing phenomenon through local as well as national networking.
