Abstract: | Prototype experimental, qualitative and quantitative emperical model may be rewardingly extended to explain morphological variations in an alluvial tidal waterway due to transport of sediments. The use of the methods have been suitably supported by studies on the estuary of the Hooghly in the state of West Bengal, India - perhaps the only estuary in India investigated for sediment transport in a planned well-organised manner. |
