It has been functioning as a research Institute in the area of hydrology and water resources in the country since December 1978 with headquarters at Roorkee (Uttarakhand, India) and six regional centres located in different physiographic regions of the country. This article presents salient details of groundwater studies undertaken by Ground Water Hydrology division of the Institute during last few years.en_US
