Abstract: In India agriculture system mainly depends upon rainfall for their survival. Rainfall analysis is essential for water resources planning and management. An attempt has been made to carrying out the probability analysis using the rainfall data of 30 years (1976-2005) in various influencing raingauge stations viz., Damoh, Hatta, Jabera, Rehali and Deori falling in Bearma basin of Bundelkhand region, Madhya Pradesh. The percentage probability of occurrence of 75% of mean annual rainfall (P75) has been computed to delineate the drought prone area in the various rain gauge stations in and around Bearma basin. It has been observed that the mean annual rainfall varies between 1034.42 mm to 1260.07 mm at Hatta and Damoh respectively. Out of five raingauge stations in the basin, it is analyzed that Hatta and Rehli are drought prone block. Therefore, it is concluded from the present analysis more attention should be given in Rehli and Hatta on priority basis for adaptation of drought management methods and mitigation measures as compared to the remaining blocks in the basin.
