Abstract: Lakhaoti Branch is a part of the Madhya Ganga system which has been constructed to supply surface water to the dry areas in the overall command of the Ganga canal system and to supplement the supplies in the command area during monsoon period. Lakhaoti branch command is an area between Nim Nadi and Kalinadi (east). This area was not getting any surface water. The farmers were using ground water for irrigation. Simulation model of the ground water system of the area was prepared to understand the present behaviour of the system and how it is going to respond to the introduction of the surface water for Kharif irrigation during monsoon.
