dc.description.abstractThe studyisanattempttodesignawatershedscorecardbyidentifyingandevaluatingselectedsetof indicators, suchassurfacewaterquality,groundwaterquality,soilcondition,agriculturecondition,and forest condition,whichaccuratelyreflect thehealthofthewatershed.UrRiverWatershedinTikamgarh District, MadhyaPradeshwastakenasacasestudytoassessthewatershedhealth.Evaluationwasdone by calculatingdifferentindicesfortheselectedsetofindicatorsandcomparingthemwiththeNational standards andguidelines.Basedontheperformanceofeachindicator,thegradeswereassignedtothe indicators whichhelpedindesigningthewatershedscorecard.Theresultsrevealedthatwithinthe watershed,theforestandsoilconditionsneedaconsiderableplanforimprovementinordertomaintain the ecosystemwhereasthesurfacewaterquality,groundwaterqualityandtheagriculturalconditions requiresprotectionaswellasenhancementincertainareas.en_US
