This paper provides information on different physical and redox parameters like pH, temperature, light transmitivity, oxidation reduction potential, conductivity and dissolved oxygen on ground water samples from 23 dug wells, representing the shallow unconfined aquifer. Ground water samples were collected in pre and post monsoon seasons of 1994 & 1995 and tested for various physical and redox parameters. The paper aims at analyzing the ground water quality scenario of Greater Guwahati, Assam and to see the variation in time and space. In general, it is found that ground water quality of the study area is in acidic nature.en_US
