An interactive river water quality model has been developed for simulating the fate and transport of pollutants through a river system using C++ on a microcomputer. At present, it helps a user predict the variation of BOD, DO, nitrogen, phosphorus and toxic substances as these move through a river system. The submodels have been validated with data readily available in the literature. The use of model has been illustrated with the help of a number of case studies.en_US
