Abstract: The ability of radar-rainfall estimates to improve real-time flood forecasting is currently under research at the University of Waterloo. Visual assessment of the input radar-rainfall field is an important task in the flood forecasting procedure. In this study, radar-rainfall images are displayed in order to examine the impact of clutter errors and a clutter removal technique on the estimate of the rainfall field and the subsequent flood forecast.
