Abstract: A simulation study of rainfall-runoff relationship of the typical hilly catchment of Vamshadhara River has been made, because of its flashy nature, its limited data availability and influence of coastal storms etc. Synthetic Unit Hydrographs were used in this black box model, with rainfall, runoff and topographical data, to forecast flood hydrographs and improved flood warning method.
