Abstract: Methods based on statistical approach makes use of the statistical techniques to analyse the historical data with an objective to develop methods for the formulation of flood forecasts. The methods thus developed can be presented either in the form of graphical relations or mathematical equations.A large number of data, covering a wide range conditions are, analysed to derive the relationships which inter-alia include gauge to guage relationship with or without additional parameter and rainfall peak stage relationship.
