| dc.description.abstract | Methods of estimating evaporation from free water surfaces are discussed. The status of Pan and lake evaporation studies carried out in India is reviewed and the procedure for the estimation of free water surface evaporation from Pan evaporation is described. Estimates of free water surface evaporation obtained from Pan evaporation data observed at 104 US Class A Pan evaporimeters in India is presented in the form of maps and discussed. The sources of data, analyses and limitations of the approach are described. | en_US |
