dc.description.abstract | Frequently, the groundwater modeller faces with the problem of input parameters to-the model. Hydrogeological parameters like hydraulic conductivity, transmissivity, storativity and specific yield form part of the model inputs. Estimation of these hydrcgeological parameters through conventional pumping test methods is expensive and time consuming. Therefore, use of empirical formulae and graphical methods which are faster and cheaper may be given due consideration for approximate determination of the hydro-geological parameters for reconnaissance groundwater studies. In the present report it has been attempted to review and put together the important available graphical and empirical techniques for estimating specific yield, storativity, transmissivity and hydraulic conductivity of the water bearing formations. The tables, graphs and formulae that have been evolved through vast field and experimental data analysis have been presented at appropriate places in the report so that these tables etc. can be used directly for estimation the hydrogeological parameters with the help of available field data. | en_US |
