The existing hydrological springflow models are based on the assumption that the spring discharge is linearly proportional to the dynamic storage in the springflow domain. The validity of such assumption is yet to be verified. In the present study, a mathematical model has been developed to analyse unsteady flow from a group of springs using the basic solution for rise in piezometric surface due to recharge from a rectangular basin given by Hantush. It is found that the relationship between the spring discharge during the recession period and the dynamic storage of the spring is not linear even for a linear aquifer system.en_US
